Salutations, friends! I apologize, this update came a bit later than expected. Unfortunately, it was locked behind an artificial invisible gate and I had to wait out the timer before posting. Welcome back everyone! We’ve tromped through Rain of Fear and now it’s farm time until Call of the Forsaken! If you’d like some music to play while perusing the update, please click here.

Great news! Rain of Fear brought us to 100 but Call of the Forsaken has no level cap increase! That means if you have been on the fence about returning, now is a perfect time with bonus XP and the fact that you have 4 months to get to 100! We are recruiting, so head over to our forums to check us out or send an in-game tell to Azzira, Wrexyou, Froogle or Nokkard!

Let us begin!

RAIN OF FEAR DEFEATED IN 12 DAYS!

Rain of Fear is a super fun expansion! Between all of the quest and achievement rewards you can get, the SHINIES, and the sheer amount of raid encounters available; there is so much to do. Without mini’s or ToV, there are 17 raid bosses to murder. Throw in the ~5,000 dragons and you’ve got yourself a party of non-stop loot.

The launch went about as expected, with only Tier 1 & 2 releasing initially. Thankfully, they forced the unlock for Tier 3 & 4 about a week and a half later, so everyone who was at work in the middle of the day really appreciated that! In all seriousness though, we are very happy we did not have to wait four weeks to kill Xaric.

Please join us in the re-enactment of our adventures through Rain of Fear! Picture it, 54 people in gumboots and raincoats, umbrella’s at the ready for the storm ahead..

We started Launch Day #1 in Shard’s Landing. Shard’s Landing is probably one of my favorite raids purely because there’s a murderer. Back on Fippy®, 95% of the murderers ended up being women in the guild. Because of the nature of the event, Satoshi was kind enough to set up a betting ring for kronos and platinum. You know who’s been having a case of the stabby stabbies lately?

(Priests, it’s the priests.)

So we murdered some people, saved King Tormax, punched a random dwarf in the coot-coot, murdered two dragons that start with the letter Z, burned some trees and stuck some pigs. It was overall a very successful night considering the average level in the raid was 97 and we one-shot everything! Shout out to everyone who worked hard on getting tasks done to make our raid night quick and easy!

Launch Day #2 we discovered half of our guild crashes to shrouding and we poked some brownies, minotaurs and eyeballs! This night was also a slam-dunk*!

*Fireballs are not friends.
*This is still technically a 1-shot

In reality, Chapterhouse and Xorbb went really well! At this point we’re able to get Findlewill down before she even casts her disgusting Fireball, and we’ve gotten TWO (2) bi-folds so far!

Launch Day #3 we were still in the midst of trying to get T3&4 unlocked so that we can continue on our journey, ultimately we decided to hit up Temple of Veeshan.

It’s pretty much the same thing as last time but now Vulak is slightly harder. He was the first mob we had a bit of trouble on, but we got him down and threatened to delete Ngreth’s shoulders.

With everything on lockout, it’s time to focus on what really matters. Beautiful, wonderful, not at all difficult to find shinies. Collectibles, if you’re a heathen. OGC is all about community and we even have an easy access Shiny House where people can deposit duplicates and take out what they need.

Shiny hiding in a broken box in Eastern Wastes.

At this point I’d like to take a moment and give a huge shout out and thank you to Froogle, the bootylicious rogue that does our DKP. He. Puts. In. Work. If you see him on the streets, you give him a tip of the hat, a slap on the butt and move on. Froogle is a protected asset, and most definitely an appreciated one.

Launch Day #12: It’s at this point on a Monday, mid-morning, T3 & T4 is unlocked. Those of us who were at home busted through the missions so we could raid on our off-night. It was an incredible turn out and we want to thank our members for their nerd-level dedication. We one shot Chelsith as well as Luclin.

I am ashamed to say that the only screenshot sent in by members for the front page update of Luclin was this:

Thanks, Chimero.

After Luclin, we went straight into Heart of Fear and started our night off with Glimpse. Our tanks had a bit of an issue on how to properly place the goos (or gooses if you’re Tacara and high on pain pills), and we also had a Satoshi Homocide Bonus where he killed one of our members by telling them to run away when they should have stacked.

Captured: Both bad goo placement and Dima’s amazingly bad Gina trigger that tells people to run away when they should have stacked.

Event 2 is a glorified trash clear, the only thing we discovered on that event was how to place more than one guild banner at a time. Honestly, the explanation of the event took about as long as the event did.

Event 3 was probably our biggest challenge this expansion, but it was a fun fight. We wiped twice and on our third try we got it, everyone having been deafened in voice comms from the excitement of our guild leader. It was a solid win!

Xaric doing his “come at me bro” pimp walk.
Might I propose a new OGC webpage banner?

Overall this expansion has been a good ride, each event has a fun unique mechanic and plenty of things to do outside of raids. As per usual, thank you to everyone here who logs in and puts in the work to crush these expansions so efficiently. From me, to you, we’re thankful you’re here.

There is a solid chance the front page will be in hibernation until the New Year, but never fear! We are still kickin’ it, so come join us! We’d love to have you.

In the spirit of inclusion: Happy Holidays, Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving (or Thursday, for our Canadians), Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year’s, Happy Donut Day, Happy whatever you do or do not celebrate. Happy all of the things! Fuck bitches, get money. Kill monsters, get loot.

Our Halloween table. PLEASE TAKE ONE!
Thanksgiving Feast!
YEAH, we put our tree up EARLY. WHATS UP?

Other notable things that happened:

Congratulations to Satoshi, our bonuses for DKP is now seriously out of control!

Congratulations to Satoshi, again, for being oddly accurate predicting server up!

Congratulations to Not Ryme for server first 100! Maybe it was Forgoth?

Congratulations to Madmanlizard for not clicking accept on your item before Forgoth kicked the instance!

Congratulations to Tacara for server first Lord Soptyvr illusion and server first Master Scavenger completion!

Congratulations to OGC for polluting the Guild Lobby with our beautiful banners!

Congratulations to Barudin on your promotion!

And finally, congratulations to Puma for making a comeback, I guess?

Ask and you shall receive!

In closing, please enjoy these accoutrements of quotes!

See you in 2020 bitches,

Yo! It’s t-minus less than two weeks until Rain of Fear launches and we’re feeling the end of the expansion blues. Veil of Alaris was a grueling expansion; it felt like it took too long, the zones were ugly, the aliens were weird and they made us read books. We here at the OGC have strapped on our gumboots and put on our rain coats and we are so ready for the release of Rain of Fear!

Grab a drink, y’all. This is a very long update!

We’re seeing the end of Veil of Alaris take it’s toll on some of the other guilds on the server. As a Fippy refugee, I want to extend my sincerest sympathy. VoA is a dickles expansion, but I promise it gets better in RoF! Hang in there! If your guild decides this is the end of their tenure on Phinigel, we would love to have you here! We are always recruiting, and as a guild make an effort to help anyone get up to speed with levels and information. If you’re interested, check out our forums here, or send Azzira, Wrexyou, Nokkard or Froogle a tell in game. Don’t give up on your Phinny dreams!

We have no idea how Rain of Fear is going to play out. Back on Fippy © , there was a whole mess of staggered releases, reverse releases, staggered re-release, portals poofin’, all that fun stuff. The dev’s have basically said they are pretty sure they have no idea what is going to happen.

However, we’ve been going strong in VoA and kept a full plate of busting through Sepulcher (seh-pull-cur) and lower tiers and collecting all the currencies! We are geared to the teeth and oh, so ready, for Rain of Fear to launch. That isn’t to say we didn’t have fun in Veil of Alaris! This was a very “rich” expansion, with lots of lore and weird looking monsters.

We did have some fun times with Fumerak & his crystal clicking.
That sweet, sweet non-cheese victory of Perfect 1’s in Pillars!

We discovered new things this expansion regarding trophies. Did you know that Powerless trophies are worth 40,000 guild tribute? We did. Did you know that only the person who loots them can turn them in, even after they are placed? Yeah, we did too. It turns out our dear guild leader is a world-class hoarder.

TURN THEM IN, DIMA. TURN THEM THE FRICK IN!
SERIOUSLY. TURN THEM IN!

The Satoshi Suicide Bonus™ is still in full effect, and we got quite a bit of use out of it this expansion. Satoshi finds creative ways to get himself and others killed on a regular basis.

We also spent quite a bit of time this expansion working on our reputation for the server! We guest raided a lot, had a lot of guest raiders and in general spent a lot of time in open world zones with friends!

We also want to give a shout out to Echoes of Elysium, my original TLP guild and Citizen’s competition late Fippy era for the great run they had here on Phinigel. We managed to snag some of their players and they have been fantastic additions!

With the upcoming election, the political climate is heavy and several of our members have become more involved in their communities. We pride ourselves on inclusion, I think. We should really just call this what it is: an archive of Terrorem’s Old White Guy ™ comments.

The lore for the upcoming expansion is a bit hazy, it makes about as much sense as the #FreeMoncs campaign. If you haven’t heard, our OpenDKP creator managed to take a permanent vacation to Fiji earlier this month.

#CheatLessMoncs

So, the lore: basically, in House of Thule we accidentally exploded Cazic, and then it turns out that these book-obsessed aliens wanted his essence to resurrect their God but some of them were like, or nah. So we worked with the or-nah’s and put their Triumvirate to bed while also low-key beating up our own gods.

Either way, we’re here kickin’ it around for the next two weeks. Join us for some good times!

Per the usual, please enjoy our members being moderately entertaining!

PVP at the guild meeting!

See you in Shard’s Landing,

‘Sup guys. We’re ovaries deep in the EverQuest BAC Era. That stands for Bitch-Ass Cazic, the bitch ass who caused this mess and the bitch ass we have to go clean up in a few months. This expansion launch was a marathon, not a sprint. A motion-of-your-ocean, not the size of your boat expansion, if you will. This is also the first real gatekeeping expansion that wasn’t locked behind keys, but a book. Oh, that book. Did you know that the U.S. is ranked 16th overall in literacy? You can let that sink in.

Since this expansion took several weeks to beat due to book learnin’, I’ve been gathering the prime filets, the burnt-ends and the fat grease of our guild’s progress throughout this adventure. I’ve prepared you a delicious meal of amazing, average and below-average screenshots of our accomplishments and nonsense. I hope you’ve got your fat pants on.

First off, we are recruiting! If you or someone you love is feeling the itch to become part of the Family, head on over to our forums and apply! We are accepting all classes right now! If you are a returning player and are nervous about catching up, don’t be, Satoshi has made you a promise:

VEIL OF ALARIS DEFEATED IN 18 DAYS!

ALIENS. ALIENS. ALIENS! ALIENS THAT MAKE YOU READ? For those of us in favor of audiobooks, can I just collectively speak for the group and say fuck this expansion? Being locked behind language for spells and progression, not to mention the infamous book-clicks made this one hell of a slow expansion launch. We did it, though. We are strong, fluffy puppies who can’t be held back.

First and foremost, I’d like to extend a shout out to DKP Master Froogle for all of his hard work. You are a rock star! In addition to that, our raid leaders Rasputyn, Nokkard and Sampsonite (not you Satoshi, you know what you did) for hitting the abacus with their monk maths and keeping all of us 10-second Tom’s in line.

We started off strong on Launch Night 1; we destroyed Argath. That’s it. That’s all we were allowed to do for the first raid. Staring at that 66% on the Book, 20 minutes into official raid times, we came to the realization that we would have to wait 5 whole days before busting into T2. We kept ourselves busy, though. Our bards disrupted the server, everyone got to 95 except our resident Handjob Princess (see below) and it gave us plenty of time to DECORATE!

I have a lot of jobs here at the OGC. Mediocre raid leader who yells too much, updating the front page with average memes and I am also our official Grand Guild Hall decorator. I’d love to give you guys a preview of my abilities to turn anything from shanty to chic!

(Shanty, the entrance)

(Chic, Satoshi’s Office)

As you can see, Satoshi went from shanty to chic instantly! He’s awaiting his interview here.

On Launch Day 6, we beat Argath down again leveled our Books and we were able to venture into Valley and Sarith. Loot pinatas, folks. Not even worth a screenshot, if I’m being honest. I took a few anyway. An hour into official raid times, we were done again.

(Valley, tower defense boss dying)

(Sarith, punching sharks and aliens in the face)

(Sarith, Prexus celebrating with us!)

During our 5 day downtime, our Knights got a little stir crazy. Heavy on the crazy.

Launch Day 11, we were finally able to break into t3. Rubak, Beasts’ Domain and Resplendent Temple knocked out easily.

(Rubak, solid 1 shot)

Unfortunately we weren’t able to go directly from T3 to T4, and we had to wait ANOTHER 5 days. It was at this point we realized that the old raids do, in fact, give book progression. Thanks for letting us know, DBG. ‘preciate you.

One other great thing we have now is Empowered Banners! We felt like this was a great way to practice multiculturalism in our guild and let people who are so used to one way of life experience it through the ultravision of another. Terrorem, our resident old white guyTM, is starting to come around!

On Launch Day 16, we were finally able to bust into T4! City of Bronze was a breeze, Windsong Sanctuary was one note and Pillars, well.. Let’s just say we had some creative differences in Pillars that lead to a few more attempts than necessary.

It took us a few probes, but Pillars got knocked out and we went straight into Sepulcher! We crushed Events 1, 2 and 3 and took the rest of the evening off. We came back strong two days later and defeated Event 4 and 5.

What can I say about Event 5? Buggy? Sure. Tedious? Definitely. Satisfying to kill in an hour? 100%.

We arrived at The Triunity’s door and were met with several of our favorite Norrathian Gods.

The way they were talking about how scary Triunity would be, we were expecting something along the lines of this:

However, once it was all said and done, it was more like this:

We approached,

We killed.

Congratulations and a huge thank you to everyone here at the OGC! Veil of Alaris on Fippy was a long, hard road. As a Fippy refugee, I can say I am extremely impressed and happy with our pace and progress in VoA and I’m excited to see how quickly we destroy Rain of Fear!

Other notable things that happened:

Congratulations to Ryme for being the first to 95, once again!

Congratulations to Barudin and his crew for being the first to 100 Alaran in the guild, may everyone weep at your feet!

Congratulations to Satoshi for starting something he’ll never finish!

Congratulations to Oakenblade for declaring himself the Handjob Princess?

Congratulations to Froogle and Duprix for taking their relationship to the next level!

Now enjoy our caffeine-addled guild members.

Until next time,

BUNNY EXTRAVAGANZA 2019

Hey friends. House it going? We’re fast approaching the release of Veil of Alaris on Phinigel! In fact, it’ll be here in 10 days! We’ve been pretty busy this expansion farming Sanctum, gearing up and racking up fat stacks of DKP so I’d like to take a moment to do some housekeeping (full pun intended) while we’re stocking the fridge full of energy drinks for launch.

We’ve gotten quite a few recruits over the last few months so I’d like to say welcome and thanks for joining the family! We’re always recruiting more players and you can apply directly on our forums. We treat you extra special if you heal.

House of Thule is closed for renovations.

We accidentally smashed everything. House of Thule was a fun expansion full of colorful, evil flora and fauna. Every place was a new adventure and this expansion really brought out the completionist in everyone. With all the farming it’s good to be able to relax and hang out with friends in Candy Land or at down the beach.

In fact, this expansion was so heart-warmingly adorable and inclusive that it made some of our grumpiest members friendly. Don’t believe me? Proof in the pudding!

Killing the same monsters every week might seem like it get’s boring or tedious, but we try to keep things spicy Satoshi Suicide BonusTM!

Ultimately, we said goodnight but not goodbye to Morell-Thule and his minions.

We’ve been over on the test server a bit exploring the new lands and I’ve only got one thing to say..

Veil of Alaris is kind of a weird expansion with some weird lore. Essentially, Alaris was a planet from another place, and the Alaran’s were invaded by the Discord (Gates of Discord denizens) and ended up here in Norrath, but their presence was shrouded by some fog. It wasn’t until we goofed and exploded Cazic-Thule that we discovered them. They don’t even speak our language! (I’m sure Terrorem will have something to say about that.)

BASICALLY, ALIENS!

Needless to say, even with a broken knee, Jeffy is flexing his utmost enthusiastic tippy-tappy excitement to get the next alien-hunting expedition expansion started. We’re ready!

Now, some words from our members:

See you in a few weeks,
