Beta is done and we are off to the races to finish Master of Shattering Ro ASAP! With the new expansion comes a throwback element and nod to the Rallo’s Earring … the new Evolving Mask of the Vortex! If your trade skills weren’t leveled up … they definitely are now. Generally, so far there has been positive feedback on the new zones, new NPC character designs and story plot. Negatives would be traversing from zone to zone but stop being a little bitch and deal with it. Most of the guild has all the achievements done already and we are prepared for January 3rd raids! Wait … where is our Beta Reward? Stay tuned!
Get ready for the 31st (holy shit) Everquest expansion.
This expansion was great in some aspects and challenging in others. With 6 beautiful new zones, 4 missions and new evolving cock rings… things were looking up! Until we got to the raids (more on that later). Those dirty rangers now could be Dark Elves and one super cool thing was the activated key ring (the clickies finally have a home versus overflowing your bags), additional spell slot, 2 more buff effect slots and a … “special” AA Aureates Bane.. to click if a named or boss casted the Curse of Subjugation spell on you. If I only took a shot for every time I heard “Bane if you got it”, I’d be completely smashed (and I was).
It’s been a while so go grab a beer and gather around while we go over some of the raids and highlights of the year. Daddy Chill!
A very noticeable change to this year for raiding was that the tanks had to be on their shit! Being able to maneuver and drag bosses into auras, facing them and adjusting them into place if failed could cuck us completely (think Hoodstock and HPY). Lots of DPS and healing checks per the usual but I will say kudos to our tanks … hell even Tajin learned how to shoot lasers from his swords to ensure we would win!
Overall raiding this expansion was more positive than negative. There were some cool DB implementations with Dock of the Bay closing the docks before a plane full of dragons showed up, or avoiding getting gunned down by cannons in Silence the Cannons. The Simon says raid in Theatre of Eternity was definitely a meh raid but most were fast paced events with some mezzing thrown in … was a nice change of pace versus dick in hand raids like Unkempt Woods last expansion. Even the lore about boarding a huge Dragon and eventually entering the heart of it in Chamber of Pussyiance was cool. Speaking of … competition of the biggest pussy …
Before you go off talking about animal rights … this was a sanctioned fight regulated by OGC and Milehiggh’s pet volunteered so back tf up!
In short we crushed ToB like the gangsters we are and here is the proof:

Also this year has been a bittersweet with some long time members taking breaks and long time members returning to help us tear it up in the new expansion Shattering of Ro! We are looking forward to this expansion and we have been raiding as a guild in Beta to be ultra prepared for when it drops.

Some time back in the summer of 2023 the first rumors of the new expansion were leaked! Lauron’s Song… The theory was that Lauron’s Song was going to be an under water expansion…and boy do we hate water zones. Soon enough the EQ team began releasing information about the expansion and there was a collective sigh of relief to find out there was no water, EQ hadn’t done us dirty…or so we thought.
Fast forward to December of 2023…EQ drops their new album and we collectivity rush to Napster to download it, and maybe we downloaded the wrong copy.
I’ve dropped my PC off at Mr. Chow’s Number 1 Computer Repair…which leaves me some time to go over the expansion and some of OGC’s adventures.
LS was a feature expansion, not so much a content expansion. Remember LoY?…ya a little like that… With this expansion we received personas. Personas from a raid perspective have been mostly edge case uses for nights when we’re low on enchanters or something…but otherwise adds another level of complexity to loot distribution on raids. However there has been some benefit to the group side of the game….too bad the expansion is lacking in group content(more on that later). Also enjoy leveling your persona when you have no collections or progression achievements left to claim….kill me now.
To the EQ teams credit we received some new zones rather than copies of old zones with higher level monsters. Also some of the zones are actually challenging to navigate (Pal’Lomen) unless you have a solid group or good CC, which is a warm welcome.
Group missions were a big flop this expansion. We received two group missions and that’s it… No reduced lock out timer. Why? Our best guess is the development time that went in to personas took away from the ability to create an appropriate amount of group content.
Raids were mostly a joke aside from Pal’Lomen….Pal’Lomein?….what ever. I do however want to talk about the substitution of difficulty for annoyance….Unkempt Wood’s I’m looking at you…. 54 people standing around with dicks in hand while mobs spawn half way across the zone and have to be drug to the raid with severe lag and warping issues. Are we meant to fight the event or poor server performance?
At any rate I wish I would have downloaded Adam’s Song instead of Lauron’s Song…and don’t pretend like you aren’t old enough to get that reference…
Well well well…if it isn’t the consequences on my own actions. I’ve been slacking on updates for a while, so now I have a lot to cover. Where were we last time? Phini merged in to Vox and we were looking forward to making some new friends? *scrolls down to check* yup that’s about right.
So how’s that been going for us? Great! We stepped into the boardroom with our best business suites on and closed a few deals.
I want to formally welcome all of the Panda folks who are now officially in OGC!
With that big announcement out of the way let’s talk about what kind of things we’ve been killing.
How did ToL as a whole go for us?
We have a lot of struggles early in ToL due low numbers, with the addition of more people we finished out ToL strong with every event on farm, we even did all the cheevos folks! (You can come back now Rencor…)

Enough about ToL, let’s talk NoS
…Night of Shadows? Did we buy an expansion or an emo album?
We officially beat all NoS raids and are on farm mode! Not sure I’m a big fan of specified tradeskill slots dropping rather than ores that you can convert into whichever item you like, but if the goal was to make me emo about the lack of weapon and BP ores dropping, mission successful.
We got an evolving cloak this expansion which is nice, it’s good to see folks out there doing something past the first two weeks of launch.
How about them raids? We’ve had a blast on the NoS raids. Let’s talk about the Under Siege raid for a sec, this raid that has all the right stuff. I mean we got adds that can be killed with mez, we got an active tanking situation, the whole raid is doing stuff…AND a compliance emote that doesn’t reset the whole damn event. Take note devs, this is what failing an emote SHOULD do in this game. Look, you have 3 possible outcomes 1. You comply with the emote and go back to what you were doing with no real impact. 2. You don’t comply, die from the DoT, and we all laugh at you. 3. You get healed through the emote and fail – and the boss heals a little bit. The raid is only a little upset with you, and some of the necros slip you a krono for padding their parse. What more could you ask for?
